Outside of our practices in our shop, on our boat and during teaching, we also conspire with local divers and organisations that focus on specific fields of conservation.
- Aruba Habitat Mapping Project (work in progress) -> This Pure Diving initiated project uses every diver as a a witness to the state of the reef and its inhabitants. Every group of divers is a group of potential collectors of data on a wide variety of subjects. We register encounters with sea horses, eagle rays, manta rays, cobia’s, dolphins, whale sharks and much more.
- Lionfish Control -> promoting the collection and consumption of Lionfish in coöperation with local lionfish hunters.
- Giving voice -> working together with local organizations advocating for marine animals and their habitats. One such organisations is Tortugaruba, that organizes turtle watches and protection during the laying and hatching seasons.
- The next generation -> Raising and teaching awareness for conscious diving. We work together with local schools to create awareness on a variety of subjects.
